Description:The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that the department operates smoothly, maintains accurate and complete records regarding suppliers, vendors, and employees. The Accounting Supervisor will oversee day-to-day  operations on all activities related to accounts payable. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounts payable accounting within the construction or large scale restoration industry, excellent attention to detail, and deep knowledge of regional laws/regulations. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct the accounts payable team. 

What you’ll do…. 
Manages AP department, including vendor relations, the AP disbursement  process, 1099 and tax-related matters  
Manages cash reporting, prepares journal entries, and bank reconciliations Ensures accuracy and timeliness of expense approval workflow Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial information,  as needed 
Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and analyze fluctuations Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development,  and work product 
Perform monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts 
Process T&E reports and employee payments 
Assists in monthly accounting department closing 
Post invoices against purchase orders and correct accounts/cost centers Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to  payment 
Verify vendor accounts by reviewing reconciled monthly statements and  related transactions 
Serves as an administrator for credit card and travel accounts Manages lease tracking system  
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

What you’ll need… 
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manager role preferably within the  construction industry, or similar industry 
Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and  accounting software 
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients, and  upper management 
Self-starter
Attention to detail 
Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 
Able to multi-task in fast paced environment, is adaptable to rapid changes. Intermediate to advanced skill level using Excel and proficient in all other  Microsoft products 
Must be accurate and detail oriented 
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
