Description:The Company is a U.S.-based service provider specializing in commercial construction and roofing projects for domestic and international clients.  

The Cost Accountant will supervise daily operations concerning project activities, such as invoicing and reconciling budgeted costs, detecting discrepancies, and collaborating with the operations team to rectify gross margin deficits. The preferred candidate should possess accounting experience in construction or large-scale restoration, impeccable attention to detail, and a solid understanding of ERP systems. This role demands strong leadership skills, effective prioritization, planning abilities, and clear communication with various stakeholders within the Operations Team, including Project Directors, Regional Directors, and the Vice President, as well as with vendors and subcontractors regarding project-related matters.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Oversee project progression from initiation to conclusion
  • Predict, detect, and collaborate with the project team to resolve project challenges
  • Aid in formulating project budgets to ensure alignment with overall financial objectives
  • Assess cost variations and inconsistencies, offering insights and suggestions to project managers
  • Communicate concerns or issues to both project and accounting management
  • Handle and review subcontractor work orders and payment requests to ensure compliance
  • Track and monitor project expenditures, encompassing direct and indirect costs, labor, and materials
  • Process client invoices and payment requests
  • Execute financial and administrative tasks for project closure
  • Generate detailed project analyses upon request from operations and finance management
  • Deliver thorough financial analysis and commentary on project costs as required by management
  • Maintain proactive communication across all levels of the organization
  • Conduct cost reconciliations comparing project costs with adjuster's reports
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, clarifications, and reconciliations related to project expenses
  • Assist closely in creating Work in Progress Schedules
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance quality control efforts

What You Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 Years of Accounting Experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
