We are currently seeking a motivated, goal-oriented, and customer-focused Project Director to join our expanding team in the commercial Restoration division. The Project Director plays a crucial role in planning, organizing, and successfully executing restoration and reconstruction projects of varying sizes and complexities. While projects are typically situated within the region/market of residence, there is a possibility of undertaking projects across the entire United States. The Project Director provides leadership to Operations teams, ensuring projects are executed safely while upholding quality, schedule, costs, and customer satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Serving as the corporate representative with ultimate responsibility for communication, schedule delivery, budget adherence, scope management, and quality commitments.
  • Acting as the Client "account executive" for multiple projects, reviewing restoration estimates, and producing reconstruction estimates.
  • Managing the Operations and project team, including first responders, superintendents, vendors, suppliers, AOE/EOR's, and clients.
  • Producing rough order of magnitude estimates for restoration and reconstruction projects and monitoring expenses to align with budget expectations.
  • Creating reconstruction statements of work (SOW) and estimates based on completed restoration projects.
  • Requesting and reviewing vendor proposals for buyout purposes and achieving target profit margins.
  • Assisting in assigning Project Managers and/or Superintendents for projects exceeding $250k.
  • Tracking project costs to maintain budget and profitability, reviewing contracts, and managing financial aspects.
  • Ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and overseeing timely completion of project close-out activities.
  • Recruiting Restoration Supervisors and Project Managers.
  • Monitoring and reporting project costs and schedule performance, recommending corrective actions if needed.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with project owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry professionals.
  • Ensuring proper project billing, reviewing/negotiating potential change orders with clients.
  • Documenting best practices for sharing with other Project teams and ensuring their implementation.
  • Adhering to Company Safety Standards and promoting a safety culture throughout the organization.
Your qualifications should include:
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Engineering (civil or a related field) or a professional credential in Construction Management (equivalent education and/or field experience considered).
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Restoration and Construction project management.
  • Progression to Senior Project Manager or leadership role in past positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams in restoration and construction.
  • Knowledge and use of T&M, Xactimate, and negotiations with insurance providers.
  • Familiarity with scheduling processes and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and effective presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in interpreting plans/blueprints, applying building codes, technical procedures, and other design requirements.
  • Strong project management skills, problem-solving ability, and knowledge of commercial construction processes, laws, and practices.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with at least three years of experience in negotiating contracts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project software, and general computer literacy. Experience with estimating software is preferred.
