Description:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Service Shop Manager to oversee our rebuild operations for Heavy Equipment Rebuild shop. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive technical/mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar machinery, and a proven track record in managing a team of technicians to deliver high-quality rebuilds.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the full rebuild shop, including workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Lead and supervise a team of 25-30 technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high levels of productivity and quality.
  • Develop and implement efficient rebuilding processes and procedures to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor inventory levels of parts and materials, and coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on completed rebuilds to ensure adherence to company standards and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to address customer inquiries, provide technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing company safety policies and procedures, conducting safety training, and promoting a culture of safety awareness among staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Prior Diesel Technology Degree, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with a focus on Caterpillar, Komatsu, or Volvo heavy machinery.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a rebuild shop or similar environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Caterpillar, Komatsu, and/or Volvo equipment systems, components, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
