Description:We are expanding our mobile team! Looking to hire multiple heavy equipment and/or crane field technicians for our Burr Ridge, IL branch. Must live within one hour of Burr Ridge; Field techs receive a take-home company truck that require a Class C, B, or A CDL to operate.
Training days and travel are fully paid for by company. Field technicians are paid from the time they start driving to repair site until they get home at the end of the day.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose Construction equipment and Crushing/screening Equipment for needed repairs and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned machines as directed. Repairs are made on, but not limited to LIEBHERR, ROADTECH, GOMACO, MANITOWOC, SAKAI, SANDVIK, JLG, MAULDIN, GROVE, and many other brands of equipment.
  • Technician skills include, but are not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of construction, mining, paving, and lifting equipment.
  • Preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
  • Detection of faults through use of diagnostic laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems: electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines, and general machine performance is expected. Occasional operation of a machine in the determination of repair need or repair assessment may occur.
  • Disassemble and assemble machines and components to the manufacturer's specifications through use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling provided by American State.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Research repair needs and order parts as needed.
**Must have CDL, clean driving record, and own tools up to 1.5 inch drives. (OEM tools / diagnostic tools provided). Welding experience preferred.**
 
Education/Experience
  • High school education or GED equivalent required. Technical, vocational, trade school education or equivalent is a plus.
  • Three to five years of experience troubleshooting, repairing and servicing heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of basic tools and tool usage, including basic welding skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking while maintaining a high level of organization.
  • Must demonstrate good, mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills -- both oral and written, good work habits, and self-motivation to perform at one's highest level.
