Job Title:Project Manager
Primary Skills:Aircraft Seat experience, Pro/Engineer, Lead experience
Description:Supervises designs of seats and seat components. Supervises completion and release of engineering documents: parts list and engineering drawings. Coordinates the engineering of a project with the airframe manufacturer and the customer. Provides leadership for the assigned projects by leading the engineering team and by providing necessary guidance to other teams (protoshop, certification, etc.). Responsible for total quality on time output of the project team and designs. Attends necessary meetings, e.g., Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and first article inspections (FAI). Coordinates and supervises completion of the required resolutions that result from these meetings.

Coordinates project completion with the affected groups: R & D, certification, testing, materials and processing, electrical, purchasing, fabrication, manufacturing, prototype shop, etc. Checks engineering drawings, as required, to ensure proper compliance. Provides direction to designers and electrical engineers. Trains engineering personnel in the specialized aspects of the product.
Liaison with quality assurance and manufacturing departments to disposition of non-conforming articles. Provides and maintains engineering schedules, status reports, work load capacity, EDR submittals and tollgate information.

Initiates and documents the following items:

•Design reviews with all applicable departments.
•Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on critical parts.
•Proto request for parts.
•Test request.
•Weight reports
•Advanced Material Lists (AML) and Common Parts List (CPL)
•Identify long lead time parts

Supervisory functions:
Performance Reviews, Disciplinary Action, Vacation approval, Provides engineering support to all departments. Responsible for the overall quality of the designs and drawings. Traveling domestic and/or international might be required.

Qualifications
Knowledge and skills:
Must have extensive technological knowledge of all phases of engineering applicable to the seat products and basic knowledge of CAD systems. Must be cognizant of the current standards of the aircraft industry and warrant specifications including FAA and EASA rules applicable to the product.
Requires aircraft interior product structural experience in sheet metal, machining, and composite design. Must have manufacturing interface experience with the total company capabilities in processes and controls. Must be able to function as part of a design team. Must possess good planning and prioritizing skills.

Education and/or Experience:
B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.
Seven years of related design experience and at least three years of supervisory experience required.
